Andrew sits down and idly traces the runes on his stone staff with his fingers. "So what is the plan folks?"

Lobelia stands up and checks her dress to make sure she is looking as a princess should. She gives a quick whistle and her faithful terrier appears from the back corner close to the door. After a quick belly rub and a few doggy kisses, she steps forward into the middle of the group and says...."I agree that we should come up with a plan going in since we have the time, I would hate to have us look like amateurs."

"Sssince we are going to take our time sssince it's only around 7 hour walk, How do we want to handle thisss?"
As Solvis is talking, he is taking the empty vial he used, and sticks it in his side pouch. He takes his scimitar and sheathes it. His serpent head quickly turns to the window.
"It looksss to be mid day now. I think it will be a better idea if we entered wessstssshire when it isss dark. If he isss there, it may be able to get the drop on him."

Muraabar strides to the door and spins back to the group. "The time for action is upon us, friends. Helm demands we act, so act we must. We can discuss our plans as we make our way towards Westshire. Solvis, walk with me as we lead this motley group into victory." He casts a calculating eye over the party. "If the dwarf and elf can keep their bickering to a minimum, they can watch the rear. The arcane casters should stick to the middle where we can protect them. With Helm's blessing, I shall stay ever-vigilant for danger as we travel. We will most likely need supplies. I am sure we can acquire these as we make haste towards our destination. Solvis, know you where we can obtain what we need?"

"Yesss my friend. Sssuppliesss are on the other ssside of the door. I mussst take my leave though for now, I wasss just sssummoned telepathically from our headmasster. It is extremely urgent I get to him. I will meet you again sssoon."
He hands Muraabar the orb, pushes a button on his ring and disappears. You all walk thru the door and gather traveling supplies and head out. You can talk about you plan on the road. As you chat about what to do when you get there, you do not realize the amount of time that has passed. It's been about 4 hours on the road, when you come across a wrecked traveling cart. You see no horses but you all see a human hanging by his feet from a tree. You can hear him wheezing, so you all know he is alive. You all notice at the base of the tree are sitting four medium sized chests that are beaten up. You think they came from the broken cart.
((What would you all like to do now. You can stop and take some time to help, or you keep going towards Westshire.))

Muraabar walks directly to the tree, draws his long sword, and cuts the man down. He stoops down and checks the man, "My friend, are you well? Who did this to you? What happened? Helm's blessing that we came across you. What help do you need?"
He casts a keen eye about as he is helping the man, searching for details.
He also has Detect Evil on and active as he's looking.

Andrew's staff glows for a moment, then suddenly the glow fades and transfers to his eyes (Detect Magic). He runs up beside Muraabar, stands his staff up and kneels down to inspect the man. He opens a small leather bag and begins to assess the merchant with a careful hand. He asks the man as he works, "What happened here?"

Aluna kneels beside Andrew and touches the man gently. Her hands begin to glow with a brilliant white light, and suddenly the man begins to breathe with ease. (used sacred touch ability which automatically stabilizes upon touch) As Andrew speaks to the stranger, Aluna casts her gaze around the wreckage for tracks or signs of anything out of the ordinary.

Aluna slowly stands while staring at the 3 chests under the tree... She double takes and blinks a few times and then touches Andrew's shoulder. Slowly she says, "Hey guys...those chests over there are... breathing..." Upon furthering her observations of the chests from a distance, she sees something very familiar about the symbols. She remembers something from a book she read in her studies at her elemental academy.
"It seems we have mimics on our hands... They are very dangerous and I think we should leave them be for now until we can find a means to their disposal."

Muraabar looks up sharply at the description of the mimics and shifts slightly into a combat stance. He says quietly to those around him, "Helm honors valor and bravery, but he also rewards those who fight with wisdom. We do not appear to be in immediate danger. Perhaps we can learn more about what happened here?"
He looks over his shoulder to Senka. "Lend your keen eye to this problem, little one."
To the spell slingers he says, "My instincts tell me a spell is at work on this pour soul. Do any of you have the ability to determine if such a thing is true?"
He nods at the dwarf with a look to indicate being ready for battle if necessary.

As you turn toward the Dwarf to give him your nod, you see the invisible woman magically appear and grapple the dwarf in one hand. With her other hand she pointed at Muraabar with a smile and a wink.
"I saw that you noticed me Orc. It is a good thing I have one of these."
She points to her neck line and you see an amulet around her neck. You read about this during your training in the priest hood. Amulets that were created to hide the true alignment of the wearer.
"Since you elf know him the most, Here take this!"
As quickly as she said it, A bolt from her gauntlet shot out towards the elf.
Bella is able to catch the bolt mid air. Attached to the bolt is scrolled parchment. With the incredible feat of quickness witnessed, the mysterious woman smiles and replies,
"It's a shame you are on that side elf, I could have used you on my side."
With that the woman with the dwarf still in her grasp, clicks her heels together and vanishes with him. Bella immediately opens and reads the note aloud.
Mortals,
This dwarf is now my prisoner. He took an item that did not belong to him. He will now pay for it by becoming my slave. You all will never see him again so do not attempt to look for him. Continue to play my little brother's game of tag. He has claimed you first. If you somehow survive, you will meet me and I will personally kill each and every one of you.
Time will tell
Teramiel, Royal Mistress of The Five, Leader of Rogues, Master Assassin to Her Majesty Tiamat.
It is here that you all take in the fact, you are now down a party member, and that you have a man at your feet some who is stabilized and somehow asleep.
((I had to write Matt out of the story for a bit, so he can focus on a few things first. He will join back in when he gets things taken care of first.))

Aluna casts her gaze upon the man on the ground again. After a brief moment of contemplation (knowlege arcana) she says, "He seems to be under the sleep spell. It looks to have almost run it's course, he should awaken shortly. Then maybe we can get some answers as to what happened here."

Muraabar had been running quickly to the dwarf's side, but then skids to a halt as he and the woman vanish. He pauses thoughtfully, then slams his foot into the ground repeatedly while screaming curses in Orcish.
He turns back to the party. "Forgive my outburst, friends. I had seen evidence of that evil one following us, but I failed to act. My thought had been to learn something of her plans. I trusted my own wisdom over that of Helm's and I have cost us an ally."
He moves towards Lobelia and bows his head. "Lady, I understand the dwarf was your friend. You personally have my deepest apologies for my failure. I swear on my life's blood that I will bring your compatriot back and stand between you and all evil in the meanwhile. May Helm bind these words to me and slay me rightly if I fail." You see a glow of holy energy surround Muraabar as he speaks this oath.
He looks to Aluna. "Young one, you sense a sleep spell? Then wait we must. Does your skill tell us anything about where the spell originated? Is there even a way to determine that? Pardon my questions, but my knowledge of arcane arts is pitifully poor."
Glancing at Andrew, he says, "And what wisdom can you share, my quiet friend? I noticed the spells you slung in our brief skirmish with those foul dragon-kin struck unerringly. That is a marvelous skill."
Then looking between them, "And what of these mimics our Aluna mentioned? I know nothing of their nature. Do they pose a threat to us? And would they resist the taste of my blade if events brought us to combat?"
He turns to Senka. "There is a mystery here little shade. Your mind is best suited to uncover truth. Perhaps while we wait, you can search the area with your keen eyes." He looks to the others. "Senka may be silent, but her other senses are sharp enough to cut through any deception. She is a true value."
He then paces back and forth for a moment, thinking. "We have spent the past few hours talking as friends, but now is the time to share knowledge. There must be more at work than we are aware of. If we are to survive, we must trust each other. While we wait, does anyone have any facts to share about themselves or our current quest? As to myself, I am a simple servant of Helm. Due to my grotesque physique, I was held captive in a circus for most of my youth. I was tortured and put on display and forced into hard labor. Helm's servants rescued me and delivered me into a life of service and devotion. I know no mission specifics, other than being selected by Tormin, may Helm guide his soul to heaven. But with this situation of powerful evil ones hunting and taunting us, I think there is a deeper trouble that awaits us. What think you all?"

Andrew pauses briefly before replying, "As for my spells, I have much to learn Muraabar. It was not enough to save our other two schoolmates during our travels down here. Our ship was attacked and sunk by foul ones and we never saw them again. Only a few other crew members survived with us."
"These mimics are highly dangerous and if attacked you would lose your sword for sure and more probably your life as well. You would all do well not to touch them or provoke them in any way. We need to construct a sign of some sort to warn passing travelers not to contact these things"
Andrew continues, "As for any information we may have, Aluna and I are students of a school known as the Elemental Order and as a further aspect of our training between more traditional teachings is a foray into the battlefield to hone the abilities we have researched for the past two years. We don't know much more than you do of this mission we are on, but as a man of the cloth we trust your judgement fully."

As you all sit and catch up on your brief history, the sleeping man begins to stir. He slowly wakes up and rises to his feet facing away from the party, toward the chests.
"Damnit all to hell Persivious, I swear if I see that thieving, backstabbing, ex partner of mine, I will put my whip around his neck and hang him from a tavern's cross beam! Persivious did he try and get his hands on my stuff?"
The center mimic grins a sharp toothy grin and the left and right mimics follow up with the same grin. The center one begins to speak and the other two mimic the center. You believe that the other two are just illusions and follow the center one. The center one says, "No my friend, he knew I was out, you know he is terrified of me and can't tell the difference between your chests and myself. He did ruin your cart though, And got a little ballsy, and pulled his little pokey dagger to throw at us to find the real chests, but ran when the group behind you showed up. Will you send me back now? You know I hate this plane because of this damned curse."
"Of course, you are a friend Persivious, I hope to one day see your plane and travel the lands with you." With that the man pulls his necklace off and mutters a command word. The left and right chest shift in to the center one and vanishes. The ugly clay blog on the necklace reshapes into a tiny clay mimic pendant. You notice now against the tree, there are two tiny chests where the larger illusions used to be. He walks over to the chests and picks them both up. He turns to you all and sizes the group up. A giant smile crosses his face at the sight of such a diverse group.
"By all that is good, hi there. My name is Michael. But all over the world I am known as, Arcano the Magician! (There is no need to roll any knowledge, none of you have heard of him. You know he is full of it.) I am the greatest magician and healer in all of Avelon. I can disappear in thin air, and wow a crowd, or I can heal a broken limb from a fall off a ladder. I can do it all. You all must let me perform for you! Well I will one day when I can find an assistant who doesn't attempt to kill me. My last assistant did just that from what Persivious just told me. I guess you heard. See this necklace. The mimic inside of this necklace holds my best friend and mentor Persivious. On this plane he has been cursed in to a warped version of reality and is stuck as a mimic. In his home world and plane, he is a great and powerful sorcerer. I have never been to Kakishon, but I hear it's a powerful world full of magic. He helped me find this map but I can't translate the runes that will reveal the the gate to his plane. This is what my ex partner was looking for. He wants to sell it to some asshat in this nasty looking blue armor. He said something like we could get 500,000 platinum pieces for it if we delivered it to him in Westshire. All I want to do is find out where I have to go enter Kakishon, and I can learn from my friend. I will make you an offer, if someone can translate this for me, I will hand over one of these pretty little chests. The are the size of this pretty lady's palm," he points over to the elf and continues," my you are a gorgeous creature. Can I buy you a drink some time?" He pauses and stares at the elf for a good 30 secs before he continues. "Oh my where was I. Oh yes, this little chest can hold up to 500 lbs of goods on the inside, without losing the tiny shape and weight on the outside. I will show you."
He asks for the princess to place out her hand. He simply stares at her until she does what he asks. "My I see your pretty hands? I would like to show you all this magic." When she opens her palm, he places the chest in her hand and opens it up. From there he pulls out some leather armor, a whip, 2 ornate kukri's, a bracelet covered in musical instruments, and a scroll case. He takes a moment to equip himself and turns to everyone else.
"After seeing this amazing magic, who can help me?"
He pulls the scroll from the scroll case and holds it out in front of him.
